Risk management system

In order to enhance corporate value and fulfill our corporate social responsibility, we assess our corporate group's risks in various areas, including business, disaster, quality, environment, health and safety, and compliance. We identify and evaluate risks while examining and assessing their countermeasures.

Risk management structure

Our risk management structure is led by the Risk Management Committee, headed by the President and Executive Officer and chaired by the General Manager of the Administration Division. The committee identifies various risks within our corporate group each fiscal year and continuously identifies, analyzes, evaluates risks, and examines and assesses countermeasures. After the committee designates a risk, the department that holds the risk formulates specific countermeasures and then implements and assesses measures to avoid or reduce the risk. The Risk Management Committee monitors the implementation status of risk measures and reports to the Executive Committee and other relevant bodies.

Intellectual property

Under our basic policy of "supporting businesses with intellectual property," we obtain rights to our proprietary technologies and brands and analyze the patent information and other trends of the market and our competitors, thereby promoting activities to enhance corporate value and support business activities in cooperation with our sales and engineering departments. To protect these management resources, we strategically secure and maintain our intellectual property rights, working to enhance and preserve the value of our brands, including our core product, golf club shafts. At the same time, we respect the intellectual property rights of other companies and take preventive measures, such as conducting research on other companies and avoiding infringement.

Basic policy on information security

We regard the assurance of information security as a crucial management issue. We are committed to protecting our information assets and those entrusted to us by our customers and business partners from cyberattacks and other threats, while creating a social value to contribute to realizing a sustainable society where everyone can fully demonstrate humanity.

Information security structure

The Information System Department takes the lead in promoting various activities to maintain and improve information security. Specifically, this department ensures that our information security policy is thoroughly known to all employees, formulates appropriate countermeasures and recurrence prevention measures against serious information security threats, and conducts information security policy audits. In FY2023, there were no breaches of customer privacy or losses of customer data.

BCP (Business Continuity Plan)

The recent increase in large earthquakes and severe natural disasters worldwide has made these disasters a major risk for companies. FUJIKURA COMPOSITES considers the safety and security of its employees to be the highest priority in the event of a major disaster, and considers the prompt continuation of its business and fulfillment of its responsibilities to customers and business partners to be one of its highest priorities.
In our "Risk Management Regulations," we have established the following as our basic management policy: striving for restoration and continuity of business operations, fulfilling our social responsibility as a company, and ensuring social credibility. In addition, an emergency task force will be set up to deal with the situation. Furthermore, the "Large-Scale Earthquake Countermeasures Regulations" stipulate the establishment and structure of the Business Resumption Group. When the BCP is activated, our corporate group will work to restore and resume business operations within the target recovery time set under this structure.
