Preventing damage to neighbors

In order to investigate the impact of our plants’ production activities on the neighboring environment, we conduct various environmental measurements, including water quality, report measurement data, receive inspections by administrative bodies, and store management data under the Basic Environmental Law, striving to comply with the standard values. Outside professional organizations regularly measure the items below, among others.

Odor (odor index) and
noise measurements

Measurement of VOC concentration in exhaust gas
(until FY2023 for Iwatsuki plant)

Analysis of effluent water quality

These are measured by using sampling from discharge points and at the plant site boundaries.
Measurements are also taken at night to meet different regulatory standards during the day and night. We also conduct annual fire drills at our plants to ensure that we are prepared to respond in an emergency. Further, we maintain connections with government agencies, such as by collaborating with each jurisdiction's fire department to promote information about drill plans.

Social actions

Our corporate social responsibility is to communicate with local communities and support their development under our management philosophy, "We value technological expertise, creativity, and proactive communication to enhance the quality of life and foster a sense of safety for everyone in society." Our policy is to contribute to regional revitalization through local job creation and procurement and to support an environment where local people can live with a sense of security. We promote activities based on the three themes that support “nurturing the next generation,” “the coexistence with environment,” and “safety and security.”

Management structure

The Human Resources & General Affairs Department of each business site of our corporate group leads communication with the communities surrounding the plant. The department organizes regular school visits, plant tours, and other activities.

Participation in Sainokuni Open Factory

We participate in the "Sainokuni Open Factory," an event held in Saitama City, which aims to develop various industries and revitalize businesses. We gave a "Real Factory Tour" to show our plant manufacturing process and service mechanism to the local community and neighboring companies. Visitors observed the manufacturing process of our composite products, which combined rubber with various materials.

Participation in MORINO PROJECT’s Minamisoma Repose and Restoration Civic Tree-Planting Festival

We support and participate in the "MORINO PROJECT" activities as part of our commitment to disaster prevention, disaster mitigation, and environmental preservation. The project aims to "build disaster-resistant forests" in the Tohoku region damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake, and we are participating in one of its activities, the "Minamisoma Repose and Restoration Civic Tree-Planting Festival". In FY2023, 59 of our employees, mainly from the Haramachi Plant, participated in the event.
